- Enter the partition number where Windows XP   is installed. Usually used partition is partition 1. After that, enter the administrator password is required.
- Continue with  enter the following command at a command prompt: 
 copy x: \ i386 \ ntldr c: \
copy x: \ i386 \ ndetect.com c: \
 After the repair process is complete, type exit  .
* If an error message appears saying there has been damage to the file  NTOSKRNL (ntoskrnl.exe missing or corrupt) , you have to do is similar to the previous solution would be at issue, namely:
- Go into the Recovery Console with the Windows XP CD installer At the command prompt that appears, go to the CD-ROM drive and type the following command:
 cd i386
ntkrnlmp.ex_ expand c: \ Windows \ system32 \ ntoskrnl.exe
 Then type exit  .
If your Windows is not installed on  c: \ Windows , you can customize it with your Windows installation location.
* If an error message that appears is missing or corrupt hal.dll file, it means there has been a configuration error in the boot.ini file  . Contained in the root directory of drive C. how to overcome them is still the same as the previous problem is through the Recovery Console. Except this time you have to type fixmbr  .  then type bootcfg / rebuild  at the command prompt to repair the boot.ini file.
